- for 3 dage sidenfor 3 dage sidenGoogle's annual I/O event is set for May 14. As for what Google will unveil, it will likely be a mixture of software and hardware. Expect to see the latest version of Android and Chrome, with a big focus on AI and Gemini. In the hardware realm, Google used I/O to announce and tease the Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel Watch. Plus, Google typically shows off the latest Pixel-A phone at I/O. You can bet that CEO Sundar Pichai will kick off the proceedings, and we expect to get more details and updates for Gemini, Android 15, and the rumored Pixel 8a. The latter will hopefully continue to hit the sweet spot in terms of price and features, likely trickling down some of the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro’s more advanced AI functionality. https://www.thestreet.com/technology/google-io-2024-set-for-may-14-what-to-expect
- 8. maj8. majGoogle Deepmind has unveiled the third major version of its "AlphaFold" artificial intelligence model, designed to help scientists design drugs and target disease more effectively. The company also announced the release of the “AlphaFold server”, a free online tool that scientists can use to test their hypotheses before running real-world tests. Since 2021, AlphaFold’s predictions have been freely accessible to non-commercial researchers, as part of a database containing more than 200 million protein structures, and has been cited thousands of times in others’ work. DeepMind said the new server required less computing knowledge, allowing researchers to run tests with just a few clicks of a button. John Jumper, a senior research scientist at DeepMind, said: “It’s going to be really important how much easier the AlphaFold server makes it for biologists – who are experts in biology, not computer science – to test larger, more complex cases." https://www.reuters.com/technology/google-deepmind-unveils-next-generation-drug-discovery-ai-model-2024-05-08/
- 28. apr.28. apr.Google is 'one of best positioned Al competitors', says BMO Shares of Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOG) soared to a new record high on Friday following a 10% jump driven by a stronger-than-expected earnings report for the fiscal first quarter of 2024. Apart from beating Wall Street's forecasts on top and bottom lines, the Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) owner also announced its first-ever dividend of 20 cents per share, and authorized a new $70 billion stock buyback program, attracting further investor attention. Moreover, the company said its capital expenditure (CapEx) surged to $12 billion during the period as it continued to invest heavily to improve its generative Al capabilities. Commenting on the print, BMO Capital Markets analysts said they view Alphabet " as one of the best-positioned Al competitors." "1Q24 highlighted effective monetization of the new GenAl platform shift. Search & Other, YouTube Ads, and Google Cloud exceeded our growth expectations by 260bps, 720bps, and 190bps, respectively, attributable primarily to GenAl products," they noted.
