For me, investing has been a steep learning curve. I started out losing money by focusing on speculative startups and unprofitable companies. Today I concentrate only on healthy, profitable businesses. Given that a high percentage of drugs fail in development, many startups don't succeed, and most retail investors lose money on individual stocks, it's also wise to focus on diversified investments like ETFs and index funds rather than concentrating on just a few individual stocks. I highly recommend: ‘Invest Like a Guru’, 'The Most Important Thing, and ‘The Uncertainty Solution’
