Traded since 1988, work at a hedge fund, traded for myself as a professional day trader since 2004.
I am not a long term player, I don't own a stock because I believe its a great company, only that it is slightly undervalued in the short term.
About 2 years ago I changed my trading method so that I could handle larger sums, this means gone are the days of low volatility in my results. I am still getting use to the swings in my account but hopefully I have done my homework properly and the direction of the profit/loss should be lower left, upper right. (Dennis Gartman quote)
